A Fortson woman could find her true love this season on Fox’s newest contribution to the dating reality scene, “Farmer Wants a Wife.”

The March 8 premiere started with Khelsi Stone, a 29-year-old school teacher from just a stone’s throw away from Columbus. The self-described “cowgirl in the making” joined the cast as a potential wife for Allen Foster, a 32-year-old cattle rancher from Santa Fe, Tennessee.

“I wasn’t sure what I pictured and then when I watched the video, I was like, ‘That’s my guy,’” said Khelsi as she awaited the arrival of the men.

Khelsi was one of 32 single women introduced to the four farmers.

The process started with contestants reviewing online profiles and choosing the farmer they wanted to meet. The farmers selected their favorites, too.

“I’m here to see Farmer Allen,” Khelsi said. “As soon as I watched his video he made me laugh and that’s huge for me.”

Each farmer was introduced to eight mutual matches during the first episode. After speed dates with the women, the men had to invite five of the women to move into their farms and date.

Khelsi made the cut. To see what happens, tune into Wednesday night’s second episode on Fox.

Farmer Wants a Wife airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Fox and the following day on Hulu.
