This “twisted” Hulu drama series is filmed in GA. Here’s what I think of the show so far

Lies, sex and drama. Throw those three themes together and you’ll almost always get one of the best shows on television.

We’re talking about “Tell Me Lies” on Hulu, which debuted in 2022 as both a “highly addictive drama” and a “twisted, sexy series” according to Forbes.

But the best part? The show was filmed right here in the Peach State. Here’s what else to know and what I think of the show so far.

“Tell Me Lies” is filmed at these locations in Georgia

Although the book and show are set in New York, the show is actually shot in Georgia. The show’s scenes that feature Baird College are shot at Agnes Scott College in Decatur and several other scenes are shot in Atlanta.

Here’s what I think of the show so far

The show is based on Carola Lovering’s book with the same title and although the book detailed the relationship of college lovers-to-enemies Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco, the show takes an even more painstaking look.

In season one of the series, which aired in September 2022, Lucy and Stephen meet at the fictional Baird College in New York and soon become entangled in a passionate and let’s just say, unhealthy relationship. They each become entangled in their own set of lies and deceit, making their hookup short-lived and over by the time class comes to an end for summer break.

However, their obsession with one another is anything but short-lived and is just beginning to heat up as the season ends.

Season two aired in September 2024 and picks up right where the drama ended: fresh off the breakup of the pair as the summer ends and fall semester begins. And just when I thought these characters couldn’t get any more toxic, they prove me wrong in an instant.

If you aren’t caught up on season two yet, don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything. But just trust me when I say, the crazy has leveled up this season. Like for real, Lucy, come on, girl. Stephen obviously baits you into every interaction and you are so hungry for it.

Don’t get me wrong, the show is highly entertaining. But in reality, these relationships show a different side of the dating world for late teens/early 20-somethings. A side that’s much more sinister.

My favorite part of the show would have to be that it’s set around the 2005s-2010s and this just makes it so much more nostalgic. No iPhones, Instagram and only the best fashion. It’s a vibe for sure.

Overall, I give the show a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

New episodes air every Wednesday on Hulu and Disney+.
