Alex Rodriguez and Girlfriend Jaclyn Cordeiro Split After 3 Years of Dating
Alex Rodriguez and his girlfriend, Jaclyn Cordeiro, have called it quits after three years of dating.
"To clarify, Alex and I are currently taking some time apart, but there continues to be mutual love, care and deep respect between us and for our families. We remain supportive of one another, and there is absolutely no animosity, drama or negative story here," Cordeiro, 46, told TMZ in a statement published on Thursday, May 21.
The statement continued, "I'm also navigating a serious health matter involving a family member at this time, so my focus is understandably there. Alex and I continue to be very close, and out of respect for everyone involved, especially our daughters and loved ones, I'd kindly ask that any reporting reflects the compassion and privacy this situation deserves."
Us Weekly confirmed in October 2022 that Rodriguez, now 50, had begun dating Cordeiro. The pair made their Instagram debut as a couple that December and have continued to give glimpses of their romance.
In 2023, Rodriguez exclusively told Us that he had Cordeiro by his side while moving his daughter Natasha into her college dorm. (Rodriguez shares daughters Natasha, 21, and Ella, 18, with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. The pair split in 2008.)
"I went with Jac, and we were waiting for Natasha [before we left]. We got there early to her dorms, and we saw a handful of parents saying goodbye to their children," he recalled to Us at the time of move-in day. "And it was funny, every time it was exactly the same. The parents were a mess. The father would go into the driver's seat, the mom would give the hug to the young man or the young woman, and every time it was like the mom crying and the child consoling, [which was] kind of cute. It was no different with me."
Rodriguez went on to credit Cordeiro, a fitness instructor, for helping him get in shape.
"Look, she's been incredible for me and for Cynthia," he exclusively told Us at the time. "[Jac is] the only person that can come into coparents and make us both better. Cynthia has gotten in incredible shape following the JacFit program, [and] I've lost 32 pounds following her program."
Rodriguez shared that Cordeiro was "very caring and proactive," qualities he thinks stem from being a former nurse.
"She's used to taking care of people that are sick," he noted. "What I love about what she's done in JacFit and the amount of people that she's influenced and the reaction that I see from people to her, it's really mind-blowing."
He continued, "I see what she's done in my life, with my health [and with] Cynthia, to name a few. She comes at it from a very proactive [place] and helps you get in tremendous shape, so you don't have to hopefully be sick and prevent any type of health issues."
Prior to Cordeiro, Rodriguez was engaged to Jennifer Lopez from 2019 to 2021.
