Kathy Griffin, 65, Seemingly Debuts Romance With 22-Year-Old Mystery Man

Comedian Kathy Griffin appears to be unbothered when it comes to relationship age differences.

"He's 22. Have at it, internet. 🔥☄️," Griffin, 65, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, July 9, sharing a photo of a blond mystery man dressed in all-black and holding her hand in New York City.

Without further identifying her companion or specifying their relationship status, several of Griffin's social media followers addressed the supposed couple.

"Off to MSG to check out the wedding venue?" Broadway star Danny Burstein wrote in the comments section, referring to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding venue from the week prior. "Sending love to the two of you. 🙂♥️."

Another fan added, "I've been considering bringing my inner Mrs. Robinson out of retirement … He's cuuuute girl."

Hell's Kitchen alum Kyle Timpson chimed in, writing, "Get it girl!" while another social media user advised Griffin, "Don't marry him."

A fourth replied, "If he is opening the car door for you, keep him. More class at 22 than most men!"

Griffin herself was amused by the variety of reactions.

"I AM DYING AT THESE COMMENTS 👏😂👏," she quipped in her own response.

Griffin has been married twice. The comedy star wed Matt Moline in 2001 before they divorced in 2006. Griffin was later married toRandy Bick from 2020 to 2025.

Following her second divorce, Griffin tried out online dating to meet a new partner.

"It wasn't my idea. It was all Sia and our friend Nia Vardalos' fault. We were at Sia's house, just being silly girls, when they dared me to do it," Griffin wrote in an essay for The Cutpublished in December 2025. "And because I'm emotionally 12 years old, I was like, ‘Nobody scares me! I'll do anything. I'm Kathy Griffin.'"

Griffin downloaded Raya, Hinge, Bumble and EliteSingles and soon found "hundreds of guys hitting [her] up" for dates. Through her online dating experiment, she even "accidentally fell in love" with a 23-year-old man.

"Because of his age, he didn't have the usual sexism, misogyny and biases that guys my age tend to have. He seemed to see me. I know that sounds really corny," Griffin recalled. "I felt really comfortable with him, and I felt very content just hanging out. It never could've lasted, and we both knew that, but it was nice to know that my heart could still feel like that in my 60s, and it was nice to have the universe show me a guy that I really got a kick out of but also respected. I thought he was smart. I thought he could roll in different worlds. It sounds cliché, and maybe he was an old soul, but … we just clicked."

Despite falling in love, Griffin broke off their connection after hearing he never wanted to have kids.

"I was like, ‘You don't know that. You're 23. You have no idea.' I just wouldn't do that to him," she stated. "I mean, when I was 23, I thought I knew a lot of s***, but I didn't. So I had to set that dove free."
