Multiple gunshots on Grant Road leave 32-year-old man dead

A Columbus man is dead after an early morning shooting at his home on Grant Road, authorities said.

Robert Lockhart, 32, was pronounced dead of multiple gunshots at Midtown Medical Center, Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine a cause of death.

Bryan said Lockhart was transported to the hospital by his wife after the shooting at 2843 Grant Road. He died shortly after arrival at the hospital.

The homicide remains under investigation by the Columbus Police Department.
