Canton, Ga., man accused of firing shots at Country Inn
A Canton , Ga., man was taken into custody early Friday after shots were fired at the Country Inn on Rollins Way, Columbus police said.
John Paxton, 57, was charged with two counts of reckless conduct, one count each of discharging a firearm in the city, discharging a firearm while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and discharging a firearm on the property of another. He was held in the Muscogee County Jail after his 11:55 p.m. arrest and later released on bond.
Police were called to the 1664 Rollins Way hotel at 11:55 p.m. Thursday to check on shots fired. The report listed two victims who weren't injured in the incident.
Paxton was arrested without incident at the scene.
