Burglar stole more than $400 worth of alcohol from home, police say

A 19-year-old was arrested Friday in connection with a November burglary where more than $400 worth of alcohol was stolen from an Auburn home, authorities said.

Mackenzie Anderson Pampu faces one count each of second-degree burglary and fourth-degree theft of property. He was booked into the Lee County Jail under bonds totaling $6,000.

Auburn police were called to the 100 block of East Magnolia Avenue on Nov. 25 to investigate a burglary.

The victim told authorities he returned home and found two people trespassing in his apartment. He told them to leave.

Officials said he learned moments later that they broke into the residence stole more than $400 worth of alcohol. Warrants were issued for Pampu's arrest after they found his for his wallet and identification outside of the victim's home, according to the news release.

It's unclear at this time if authorities have identified a second suspect in the case.
