Former Hardaway High School football player Justin Crawford signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday. The deal sends the West Virginia Mountaineer back to Georgia to begin his professional football career.
Crawford played his junior and senior seasons of high school at Hardaway and split his playing time between quarterback, running back, receiver, safety and punter. He earned Offensive Player of the Year honors his senior year, rushing for 825 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Hawks.
Crawford started his collegiate career at Northwest Mississippi Community College for two seasons before transferring to West Virginia. Crawford rushed for 2,244 yards and 11 touchdowns in his two seasons as a Mountaineer.
One of the major highlights of Crawford's career came against Oklahoma in 2016, when the then-junior rushed for 331 yards.
