Man accused of molesting two girls after year-long investigation
A Columbus man is accused of molesting two girls after a year-long investigation by the Special Victims Unit, police said.
Everett Miller, 58, was taken into custody on two counts of child molestation on Tuesday and held in the Muscogee County Jail for a 9 a.m. Wednesday hearing in Recorder's Court. He appeared in court without an attorney , forcing officials to delay his hearing until 2 p.m. Thursday.
A patrol officer was first called to the Public Safety Center on June 19, 2017 to talk to someone about a sexual battery case. The charges are connected to an incident at a home near Schomburg Road.
Two girls are victims in the investigation.
Miller is a contractor who works at Fort Benning, according to an arrest report .
