Auburn lineman stricken at practice

A defensive lineman for the Auburn Tigers football team was stricken on the field near the end of practice Saturday.

Antonio Coleman went down on the field about 12:55 p.m. EST. He was conscious and did have some movement, according to Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville.

He was taken to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Ala. Coleman is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 250-260 pounds. It was the Tigers first scrimmage of the year.

Practice was halted about 15 minutes early after Coleman was stricken.
