This weekend is all about style — and a desperate attempt to not become fashion roadkill.
Friday, I'm modeling in a fashion show for Zoila's Boutique. The show, which starts at 8 p.m., is part of the Uptown Concert Series. The event features the Old School Band and Ed Cox and the Tender Blenders. Held from 7 to 11 p.m. on the new stage on the 1100 block of Broadway, it's free.
I bought an awesome pair of clear plastic heels for the fashion show, and I'll want to show them off again Saturday night.
That's why I'm heading to Broad Street Blues (913 Broad St., Phenix City) to see MoJo:Saint. The Cusseta, Ala.-based act includes Jack Hall, bassist and founding member of Wet Willie. The $5 show starts at 10 p.m.

Finally, I'll end the weekend by running some errands at Peachtree Mall, 3131 Manchester Expressway.
There, I'll inevitably run into the Weddings in the Valley Spring Bridal and Wedding Cake Showcase, which is noon to 6 p.m. The free event features prize giveaways, a designer wedding cake competition and a professionally produced bridal fashion show.
I'm not getting married. I just love cake.
