My God, it's full of stars

Actually, this weekend's forecast is looking like you'll have to be halfway to Jupiter before you'll see a heavenly body — and I'm not talking about an ankle-bracelet clad Paris Hilton. With stormy skies and the possibility of rain, I suggest renting a movie (no, not Paris' movie) and calling it a couch-filled Saturday in front of "2001: A Space Odyssey." Do a shot of tequila right before the wormhole sequence. It'll make a lot more sense.

Unfortunately, you can't stay locked inside your apartment, or mother's basement, for both Saturday and Sunday. That's why I'm going to check out a relatively new gaming store in Columbus sometime this weekend. It's called "James' Games," and it's at 3462 University Ave. From what I hear, they've got RPGs, anime, books and some games. I hope to find some back issues of "The Invisibles," "Akira," and "Sandman" — a few comics I used to collect.

And while you're racing back and forth between chunking quarters into the washing machine and scaring the cat with plastic bags, go to YouTube and do a search for Dog Police. This is quintessential 80s, it's a great laugh and a crying shame that our world will never again resemble these brave men. These guys were truly stars that shone too briefly. Let's relive their glory and remember the days when MTV actually played videos.
