Animate Objects, a Chicago hip-hop band, will perform songs from two albums, Riding in Fast Cars with Your Momma and Dubs, Grunts and Things. The group’s RIFCWYM release led to several awards including the 2008 Independent Music Awards Best Rap and Hip Hop Song for El Dorado.
The concert is not only a chance to enjoy free music to kickoff the three-day weekend but an opportunity to see Wetherby’s new outdoor stage, which was completed last month, said Donna Hyatt, marketing publicist for Fort Benning’s FMWR office.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. The concert is open to the public. Blankets and lawn chairs are recommended. Food and drink vendors will be on site. Wetherby Field is located just off post along Custer Road near Highway 27/280 heading toward Sand Hill. For a map, visit www.benningmwr.com and click on the “Maps and Directions” link.
