The Rangers blanked CRC Thunder 10-0 in an intramural soccer game Monday at Doughboy Stadium.
The Rangers of 75th Ranger Regiment missed several early scoring opportunities, until James Grady scored in the first half. Rangers Jon Graves and Benjamin French added goals to take a 3-0 lead, while CRC Thunder came within scoring range, but came away without a goal. Anthony Vasquez and Grady scored goals to increase the Rangers’ lead to 6-0 at the half.
In the second half, with an assist by Dale Henny, Ranger Jeff Duncan added a goal, and Graves scored his second goal to lead 8-0. CRC Thunder had a shot at scoring when the Rangers’ goalie Henny left the goalie area. Henny and French scored late to seal a 10-0 win.
“I think we could have played better,” said Grady, Rangers coach. “We had good defense, passing and movement of the ball, but we didn’t work as a team in the second half.”
