Shrug off slow start

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Columbus shrugged off a slow start to rip the Greenville Force 60-39 at the Bi-Lo Center on Friday night.
The Lions managed only four points in the first quarter and trailed 14-4. Columbus caught the Force at 24-24 by halftime.
In the second half, the Lions outscored the Force 36-15.
But it was the Force that scored first for a 31-24 lead in the opening minutes of the third quarter. Then the Lions took the lead with a field goal, an uno and a 25-yard touchdown pass from Chris McCoy to Tirone Morris. Justen Rivers returned an interception for a touchdown with 1:49 to go in the third quarter for a 42-31 lead.
Morris finished with three touchdowns.
