There's no lack of opinions when it comes to politics. Anyone in the business should realize this, suck it up and know that eventually, and probably several times throughout their careers, people are going to broil them.
This opinion pieceisn't exactly a broil, but it does bring up some good points about Obama's wishy-washiness. First, the president says nothing bad will happen to the writers of certain documents pertaining to torture. Then, he says it'll be up to the attorney general whether people will fry.
Is Obama trying to have all of the people love him all the time? Probably not. This incident could have been handled with a lot more finesse, but the guy's still flexing his executive muscles and I'm willing to give him a year to figure out the nuances of the White House.
Likely, AG Eric Holder will decide not to prosecute anyone relating to the torture documents and our government will continue using certain methods to gain information from our enemies, all the while as our leaders wring their hands about the practices.
But that's just one guy's opinion.
