It's Monday, we here at PP&B are feeling lazy and that can only mean one thing - state Senate porn.
Our tireless peons who work in the PP&B dungeons came across this story about a Florida state senator who got busted looking at a picture of some women who weren't wearing a lot of clothes. While he was sitting on the floor of the Senate. While they were debating an abortion bill.
Now, we think everyone can understand that we get bored while at work. We've been guilty of playing some Minesweeper back in the day. Maybe a little World of Warcraft when the boss wasn't looking.
But things are different when you're an elected official. You know, at some point in our history, this would have been a firing offense. Now it's pretty much expected ... if you're a Kennedy.
Does this state senator have anything to worry about? Well, maybe if he hadn't done this, which is pretty dumb, even for an elected official.
As the second linked story states, the senator called the reporter up and is accused of threatening him. Here's the quote from the story:
"I will do everything in my power, everything -- I don't know what that is exactly -- but I will do everything I can to make sure your days at the Capitol and reporting are over."
The senator can now be assured that he will be closely watched by every reporter that covers the Capitol. And the reporter that wrote the original report probably just had an editor tell him he did a good job - a rare occurrence in a newsroom.
