As I wrote last week, my sister, Dorothy, AKA Djibouti Girl, brought Kaylee and Elijah with her while she took a two-week vacation. Kaylee and Elijah are our great-niece and great-nephew, the children of Michael, our sister Nancy's son.
I took last Wednesday-Friday off so I could spend some time with them and Dorothy. We had talked about taking them either to Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell or Wild Adventures in Valdosta. But I couldn't imagine walking around in this heat at a theme park. And we're not getting any younger.
When I talked to Dorothy this evening, we decided that we'll plan a trip with Kaylee and Elijah the next time they come to town. Well, we'd plan something in advance. Apparently, they have not been to any theme park. Ever. So we'll remedy that.
On their last day here yesterday, I was sick. I don't know what it was but I woke up around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. I barely made it to the bathroom. I couldn't go back to sleep. I spent all day Sunday on the sofa. Dozing on and off.
So I didn't get to say good-bye to Dorothy, who goes back to Djibouti on Aug. 5. Nancy did bring the kids to I could say good-bye.
I was still a little queasy today, but made it.
Maybe it's just some sort of virus. I figured it wasn't food poisoning because my whole family ate the same exact thing I did and no one else got sick.
I just hope I'm back to 100 percent tomorrow. And I hope I get some sleep.
