I met Randalette Barnes last year about this time of year.
She is something else. She spends all day as a school counselor in the Muscogee County School District. Then Randalette decides to buy a franchise for PlayDate Columbus.
This is an adult gathering, but it's not what you think. It's for adults who miss playing board games that they played as children. So you get to play Scrabble, Monopoly, Risk, Life. You know you played these games. I did.
But now that we're grown-ups, we don't make time to play games. Now you have no excuse. And now, because we're grown-up, we can sip on cocktails.
The next PlayDate Columbus is 9 p.m.-1 a.m. June 11 in the Occasion Event Center, 1807 Victory Drive.
Randalette promises food, cocktails and 80s music played all night. It's just $10.
Besides the usual fun, Randalette asked Memory Lane Candies to have candies for sale. These are the candies that you'll remember from your childhood. You can go to www.memorylanecandies.com to find out about the kinds of candy you'll find.
