I was introduced to Miranda Lambert, interestingly enough, through one of my fiance's hunting videos. She accompanied her hunting enthusiast and country singing boyfriend Blake Shelton on an episode of Michael Waddell's "Real Tree Roadtrips."
And I actually heard "Gunpowder and Lead" for the first time about a year after it was released, which I didn't realize until I was at Target and noticed the song did not appear on her most recent album.
So, once again, I'm a little behind the times.
None the less, I'm a big fan of hers because she seems tough and "real"; the fiance is a big fan of hers because she dates Blake Shelton and he got to see her shoot a deer on that hunting show.
But it always seemed like Taylor Swift sort of stole her thunder . . . like, all the time.
So when she won several awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year, at last night's Academy of Country Music Awards, I was more than happy for her.
And here's a quote from last night that perhaps perfectly exemplifies why I think she is so awesome:

Totally modest. But she deserves that award.
She and Blake are one talented couple - in addition to Miranda's three awards, Blake won for his "Hillbilly Bone" performance with Trace Adkins (who is ridiculously sexy for being as old as he is).
