Living with a roommate comes with some risks. You could share a dorm or apartment with your best friend and end up mortal enemies by the end of the year. Or you could room with a complete stranger and end up with living with...a psycho?
That's the premise of the new movie The Roommate, coming out Friday. Check out the trailer here.
Reporter Sonya Sorich writes about her experience with her first college roommate in today's nightlife column. There's pizza -- and aliens.
My first college roommate was paired with me randomly. The first thing I always remember about her, unfortunately, is that she locked me out of the room while I was in the shower and never apologized.
But except for that incident, she wasn’t a bad roommate. She was quiet and kept her side of the room clean.
There were times when we would share a pizza or go to the gym together, but we never really hung out and became good friends.
She had a job and went home a lot on the weekends to work with her church youth group, while I stayed in Athens, went to Saturday football games and formed my own set of friends at the student paper. Even though we lived together for a year, I still don’t think I really knew her.
What are your roommate memories?
