The Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation’s School of Professional Military Education will host its third annual Current Operations Symposium Tuesday through Thursday at Fort Benning.
The symposium is held from noon Tuesday to Noon Thursday in Building 35, Ridgway Hall.
The symposium is an academic forum to review information on current international issues and lessons learned by selected U.S. agencies and Western Hemisphere countries. It also offers an opportunity to gain a greater appreciation for the joint, inter-agency, inter-governmental, and multinational coordination processes used while conducting operations to counter-drugs, counter-terrorism, peace keeping and humanitarian assistance.
Experts will be available from Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic and El Salvador. There will be officials from the vice minister of public security from Costa Rica; other senior officials from the U.S. Department of Defense, Homeland Security and other federal and local agencies.
