April letter from the editor: Get ready for Easter

Dear Readers,

It’s nearly time to hide those plastic candy-filled Easter eggs and baskets full of chocolate bunnies. If you want to add something extra special and fashionable to your daughter’s basket, consider the beautiful and affordable jewelry from Leanah Loo, a Columbus-based accessories boutique.

If the daisy cuff (page 21) ends up my Easter basket, the Easter bunny is going to get a big hug! (hint hint, hubby)April’s religious services, brunches and parties call for some fun spring fashions and Magnolia Hill and the Kiddie Shoppe have just what mom and the kids need to make this Easter season especially elegant (pages 16-20).

The season is all about gathering with friends and family and celebrating new beginnings. Make Lee Harrell’s chicken pie and enjoy a comforting meal with your family or take the butterscotch brownies to your church potluck (pages 32-33).

These coat-free evenings remind us that summer is almost upon us. Those hot days will have you craving time by the pool and lake where keeping kids safe and injury-free is a top concern. Attend the Safe Kids Baby Expo (pages 12-13) on April 21st to learn how to protect your children.

In honor of Earth Day, on April 22nd, Terri Parodi and her architect husband Jeff Ribnik give us tour through their eco-friendly home (pages 26-29).

Happy April,

Dawn Minty, dminty@ledger-enquirer.com
