When I had lunch at Jimmy John's Wednesday afternoon, I didn't expect my meal to include a side of mild erotica.
But somehow, while enjoying my standard midday meal -- turkey sandwich, unsweetened tea, chips -- I decided it was a good idea to start reading "Fifty Shades of Grey."
It seems like everybody's talking about the erotic novel, and I wanted to join the cool kids' club. A day later, I read an article that referred to the book as "mommy porn."
So much for the cool kids' club.

In summary, you can give "Fifty Shades of Grey" this alternative title: BDSM 101. And no, I'm not nervous about writing that in a public forum. Surprisingly, major news organizations have been incredibly candid in their discussions of the fictional novel. ABC bluntly titles its discussion of the book "50 Shades of Grey: Why Women Are Turned On By Sexual Submission."
A hundred pages in, my opinion of the book is divided. I'll post a longer reflection when I finish, but for now I'm curious if anyone has joined me on the "Fifty Shades of Grey" bandwagon.
Yes? No? Maybe?
