American Idol 2012 results April 5: Kellie Pickler, The Wanted perform; Deandre Brackensick kicked off

He'll forever occupy a spot in the show's Hair Hall of Fame, but Deandre Brackensick won't win "American Idol."

The curly-haired singer was eliminated from the competition Thursday. Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone joined him in the bottom three.

Weigh in: Was the right singer eliminated?

Deandre wasn't a total train wreck, but he lacked the experience to win "Idol." Plus, his falsetto-driven style was too polarizing to secure a consistent fan base.

He repeated his performance of "Master Blaster (Jammin')" in hopes of earning the judges' "save" Thursday. Jennifer Lopez said she wanted to save him, but the other two judges weren't on board.

Also on Thursday's show, "Idol" alum Kellie Pickler sang "Where's Tammy Wynette." Boy band The Wanted performed "Glad You Came." Jennifer Lopez premiered part of her music video for "Dance Again." The video features her love interest, Casper Smart.

The tackiest part of Thursday's show? Joshua was ill, but appeared on stage. After learning Joshua felt lightheaded, host Ryan Seacrest asked, "Do you feel like you might pass out?"

Stop using fainting as a ratings ploy, "Idol."

Seven singers remain in the competition: Elise Testone, Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Skylar Laine, Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet.
