There might be a crowd this weekend at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 665 on Victory Drive in Columbus.
Relatives and friends of Army wrestler Peter Hicks will be there whatching the soldier on television as he competes in Olympic trails in Iowa City, Iowa, said his father Franky Hicks.
A former Spencer High School graduate, Peter ranked No. 5 in the nation this year and was the Army’s Greco-Roman champion in the 185-pound class last year, earning him a spot in the Olympic Team Trials on Saturday and Sunday.
The Saturday event is aired on NBC 4-7 p.m. Sunday EDT. The Sunday event will be on 4-7 p.m. Monday.
Peter’s mother, Kyong Ho, lives in Texas, and stepmother Darlene Hicks is from Columbus.
