Training noise intense Wednesday night for Sullivan Cup competition

If you live in the Midland and Upatoi communities in Muscogee County, you will hear more noise with 15 tank crews firing rounds in the Sullivan Cup competition at Fort Benning.

Beginning at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and possibly going until early Thursday, there will be significant firing at the Digital Multi-Purpose Range Complex. Live firing resumes from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday.

The competition, made up of 15 four-man tank crews, challenges the soldiers skills in maintenance, driving, gunnery and marksmanship. It also will test  physical fitness and basic soldier skills.

The competition ends Thursday with an awards ceremony.
