The deputy director of operations at the U.S. Southern Command told 48 graduates of a Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation course to build the future in the Americas.
“You are the future of the Americas,” U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Robert S. Arthur told a crowd of about 400 at McGinnis-Wickam Hall at Fort Benning.
Arthur was guest speaker as the students from Latin America, the United States and Canada completed the year-long Intermediate Level Education Course at the institute. The course teaches students about a wide range of military doctrine, tactics, and working in a joint, interagency and multinational environments.
Latin American countries taking part in the course were Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Peru and Panama.
