I like to think of myself as a creative person (I think most writers do) and I've picked up/improved some crafting skills over last year or so — I knit, sew and just generally craft when I get the chance.
But one thing I haven't tried is cross stitching — but after stumbling upon Etsy store WeeLittleStitches, that might have to change.
The shop sells patterns for contemporary cross stitch — most notably, Pixel People featuring tons of different pop-culture figures, including everything from the cast of "Star Wars" to the guys (and Penny!) from "Big Bang Theory."
It's a fun, creative way to pay tribute to a favorite TV show or movie — and they would make really cute gifts, especially if done on a pillow or something equally useful and easy to display.
Patterns range from about $4-$12 and custom patterns can be ordered for $12-$18. You can also purchase finished custom orders for $40+. In addition to Pixel People, the shop also offers quotes and other cute images (sushi, cookies and milk, a wedding dress).
