Cars, boats, household items for sale at Fort Benning auction

Deals on used cars, household furniture and other items will be available during an auction Wednesday at Fort Benning.

The event is 9 a.m. at Building 2384 Prussman St., said Janice Jemison, a supply specialist.

In addition to the vehicles and housewares, there are pontoon boats, golf carts, barbecue grills, campers, exercise equipment, game room equipment and other items.

Jemison said she’s not sure about the condition of the vehicles but there are 14 available, including vans and trucks.

Most of the household items are from the Directorate of Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation. Items were used in the gym, the child care center, Uchee Creek and at facilities in Destin, Fla.

Items are sold “as is” at the auction. Jemison said vehicles will be sold as individual items.

There are 200 lots of items to be auctioned. The auction is open to the public.

Residents from as far away as Cusseta and the Atlanta area come to Fort Benning for the sale.

Items may be previewed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. You can pay for items using Visa, MasterCard, cash or by check if you have a bank letter to validate funds.
