Bride to Be Celebration at National Infantry Museum Feb. 24

The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center lets wedding professionals stage picture-perfect weddings and receptions at the Bride to Be Celebration at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24.

The entire museum will be decorated by local wedding planners assigned to design their own spaces to showcase their best wedding ideas. They'll be paired with wedding vendors who will add their special touches to the spaces.

The show is free to attend and brides, grooms and wedding party members can expect to meet cake designers, photographers, florists and wedding planners who will help create dream-worthy celebrations from rehearsal dinners to ceremonies to receptions.

"Most people see the museum as somber but when it's all decked out for a wedding it looks like the fanciest supper club. It's magnificent," Vickie Benton, the museum's director of events, said.

She thinks the museum is an ideal venue because it's an all-in-one destination with a nearby hotel, spacious outdoor grounds, rooms of varying sizes inside the museum and plenty of parking for guests.

Valley Hospitality will provide food and live musicians, including a harpist, will play soft music in each space to set the tone for romance.

Whether brides are looking for traditional military formality or modern Southern flair, Benton is sure they'll find a wedding day look that matches their desires at the event.
