State to Study
House Speaker George T. Smith today named a committee to study the feasibility of having a 12-month school year in Georgia.
The study was requested by the State Board of Education which pointed out that the state, with classroom space badly needed, is using only 60 percent of the potential of its existing buildings.
A new factor has flashed into Viet Nam strategy talks with the blasting of an American jet bomber over North Viet Nam by what U.S. officials said appeared to be a surface-to-air missile. Newsweek today quoted the President as saying, "We're going to be what's necessary. We cannot just get out."
