Scores of Americus Negroes filed into the Sumter County Courthouse today to register under the new voting rights law, and a civil rights leader said they would "keep coming all day long."

New Citizen, 101, Dies

Nicholas Latimer Charles Martindale, who was one of the oldest citizens of the U.S. at the same time he was among the newest, died here Sunday.

On March 25, 1964,is 100th birthday, he became a citizen of the U.S. and told reporters he made his decision "to recognize the friendship, comradeship and kindness of the people of Georgia and my son and daughter."

Airplane Case

An Atlanta contractor, charged with public drunkenness in connection with an airplane incident Friday, was bound over to City Court on a $150 bond this morning in Municipal Court.

Jack W. West, 38, pleaded innocent to the charge. He was jailed Friday night after Muscogee County Police arrested him at the county airport.
