Funeral service for Thomas Hicks Fort, 85, judge emeritus of the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the graveside in Riverdale Cemetery.

Judge Fort, who died at 5 p.m. Sunday, retired in 1956 after a highly successful career spanning 54 years, during which he was a practicing attorney, solicitor and judge.

Post Buildup

Fort Benning will be built up to a strength possibly in excess of past figures, Sen. Richard B. Russell said here Sunday.

The Senate Armed Services Committee chair said the build-up would be part of an overall Army expansion.
