Several Phenix City and Russell County school officials are meeting with Gov. George C. Wallace today in Montgomery in a conference involving all city and county school superintendents and school board members in Alabama. Both superintendents said compliance with school desegregation rulings will be the main topic.

Holiday Toll

Americans set a record for summer holiday traffic toll during the Labor Day weekend, figures showed today. A United Press International compilation showed 567 traffic deaths, six more than the previous record, set two years ago.

Muscogee County Commission today was in the midst of a heated confrontation between residents for and residents against an off-premise beer license for Mike's Food Store in Morningside.
