Man arrested after cash snatched from Phenix City man
A suspect was arrested Friday afternoon after cash was taken from an elderly Phenix City man at the 30th Avenue Package Store, Columbus police said.
Robert Lee Carter, 20, was arrested shortly after the robbery of an 81-year-old man of an undisclosed amount of cash at 3001 Victory Drive. Carter is held in the Muscogee County Jail for an 8 a.m. Monday hearing in Columbus Recorder's Court.
Police said the suspect was armed with a pistol when money was snatched from the victim's left hand. The man wasn't injured during the robbery, police said.
