Aid in Cleanup

Some 220 area telephone and power company employes have been dispatched to the Miami area to help in mop-up operations after Hurricane Betsy left southern Florida a jungle of debris.

Workers of the Columbus division of Georgia Power Co. left early Wednesday morning.

Lottery Charge

A Columbus woman was bound to City Court from Recorder's Court Wednesday morning under $1,000 bond on a charge of operating a lottery.

Minnie Louise Davis, 37, was arrested Aug. 18 at her home after officers found tally sheets with lottery numbers.

Boy Choir

The Columbus Optimist Boys Choir, under the direction of Bill Collins, will begin rehearsals for the fall and winter season Friday. Rehearsal will start at 7:30 p.m. at Georgia Power Company, 18th Street and Second Avenue.
