Central-Macon uses fast start to down Jordan

Central-Macon proved to be too much for Jordan Friday night at Kinnett Stadium, cruising to a 52-28 victory in the first Region 2-AAA game for both teams.

The Chargers jumped out to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter on a 22-yard touchdown run by Antonio Sanders and a 17-yard touchdown pass by Derrick Evans to Ivorie Childers.

Central expanded its lead to 21-0 in the early second quarter when Sanders scored his second touchdown on a 36-yard run.

The Chargers running back was the game's leading rusher, totalling 132 yards on 15 carries.

Jordan got on the scoreboard in the second quarter when quarterback Romello Kimbrough connected with D'Andre Snead for a 96-yard touchdown reception. The score at halftime was 21-7.

But Central-Macon essentially put the game away in the third quarter by scoring 21 more points, punctuated by a 25-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown by the Chargers' Stephen Parker. That made the score 42-7.

Jordan scored late in the third on a touchdown pass from Kimbrough to Leonard Hill.

The Chargers led 42-14 going into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth, Kimbrough scored on an 8-yard run and passed for a 17-yard touchdown to Lorzie Meadows.

The Jordan junior signal caller accounted for

all four of the Red Jackets' touchdowns.

Kimbrough had 92 yards rushing on 23 carries and 292 yards passing with three touchdowns on 17 of 27 completions. He was sacked 7 times.

Jordan finished with 423 yards of offense to Central's 440.
