Robbery suspect nabbed after woman stabbed inside home

A Columbus man was arrested late Friday about an hour after a woman was stabbed and robbed in a home on Fletcher Avenue.

Police said the woman, 52, was taken to Midtown Medical Center where she was in fair condition after the 8:50 p.m. assault in the 800 block of Fletcher Avenue.

 Corey L. Ingram, 37, was arrested outside a Garden Drive home about 9:50 p.m. He faces one count each of tampering with evidence, aggravated assault, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and felony obstruction of police. He is held in the Muscogee County Jail for a 2 p.m. Thursday hearing in Recorder’s Court.

 Police said the victim was stabbed in the living room before the suspect fled from the scene. Police didn’t specify what was taken from the victim during the alleged robbery.
