Training Center Coming to Post
An Army basic training center will be established at Fort Benning next month to absorb 1,300 trainees a week, the Army announced today.
Some 3,000 permanent personnel -- some of whom already are at Fort Benning -- will be used to receive and train the inductees joining the Army under the increased draft.
Drinks Vote

Hunger Strike
A soldier with the U.S. Army's lst Cavalry Division has been imprisoned on charges of disobeying to prepare to move to South Viet Nam, a U.S. Army spokesman said today.
Four men, all Negroes, attempted a hunger strike on the U.S. troop ship Buckner on the way over to South Viet Nam, but "all are eating well now," the spokesman asserted.
