Probers Eye Loan Firm Merger Plan

A congressional investigating committee will probe the proposed merger of the embattled Federal Services Finance Corporation and Interstate Securities Company of Kansas City, Mo., the committee chairman told The Ledger today. Federal Services has been under investigation for widespread abuses of Fort Benning soldier clients and other servicemen all over the world.

Congress has voted to discard the national origins quota system of immigration and to substitute a policy of accepting immigrants regardless of their place of birth.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Harold K. Johnson was today expected to order an increase in the number of doctors at Fort Benning's Martin Army Hospital. A shortage of doctors at Martin had forced the Army to make plans to limit the medical care of military dependents.
