Day-Care Center

Gets Top Priority

A day-care center for mentally retarded children will be given top priority by the Exceptional Children's Hospital Organization (ECHO). Steve Knight, ECHO chairman, also said that ECHO will continue its efforts to see that Columbus gets a regional mental health hospital.

Pimiento Fest

Twenty-five beauties from throughout west central Georgia will vie for the Miss Pimiento crown at the 16th annual Pimiento Festival in Woodbury Oct. 13.

Job Corps

The first Russell County candidate for the Job Corps is scheduled to depart from Muscogee County Airport at 9:04 a.m. Oct. 6, according to James W. Quinn, director of the Phenix City office of the Alabama Employment Service. Clyde J. Dixon, 20, of Lucian P. Stough Apartments in Phenix City, will leave for the Custer Job Corps Reception Center in Battle Creek, Mich.
