Largest Troop Plane Planned for 1969

After months of studies, the Pentagon is expected to award a contract for development and later production of the C5A, a monster jet-powered plane which could carry up to 600 soldiers or tanks and other heavy military gear more than 6,000 miles at about 550 miles per hour.

Drink Foes

A crusading Iowa executive Saturday told the United Christian Laymen's Association the sale of mixed drinks here would "drain off the purchasing power of the community." William N. Plymatt, president of a national insurance company in Des Moines, referred to the referendum which the UCLA is attempting to halt.
