U.S. Newsman Dies; First in Viet Nam

Viet Cong terrorists exploded two bombs in Saigon today, killing 13 Vietnamese and wounding 38 persons including two Americans. At the northern battlefront the first U.S. newsman to die in the war was killed in a plane collision. He was identified as Berni Kolenberg of the Albany (N.Y.) Times-Union.

Libel Case

A federal court said Friday Curtis Publishing Co. will not be granted a rehearing on the firm's appeal of a $460,000 libel decision. Former University of Georgia football coach Wally Butts charged he was libeled in a Saturday Evening Post story which said he turned over Georgia secrets to University of Alabama Coach Paul Bryant on the eve of the game between the schools.

Mental Health

An additional $13,600 in contributions is needed for the Muscogee Mental Health Project to reach its goal and assure adequate local support for an out-patient alcoholic treatment clinic and a rehabilitation residence for returning mental patients.
