Doctor Shortage To Be Eased at Post
The shortage of doctors at Martin Army Hospital should be ended by December, a Continental Army Command spokesman told The Ledger today. The assignment of the lst Cavalry Division to Viet Nam and the merger and redistribution of the 2nd Infantry Division took away from Martin some 34 doctors who previously had helped with the large military and dependent work load.
Education
Georgia's education leaders today were urged again to seek the merger of smaller school systems so every Georgia child can have a "quality" education. Consolidation -- a sensitive word in many of Georgia's smaller counties -- held the spotlight in the third annual Governor's Conference on Education.
Band Program
The Jordan High School band will present a special program on United Givers during halftime at the Baker-Jordan football game at Memorial Stadium tonight.
