48 Persons Die In Bombing Error
U.S. Air Force A--1E Skyraiders inadvertently bombed a friendly village 40 miles north of Qui Nhon, killing at least 49 persons and wounding another 55, a U.S. military spokesman said today.
Inspection Deadline
"I just waited too long," a Columbus motorist said Saturday with resigned good grace as his car failed to pass its state safety inspection and precious time ebbed away. The deadline is midnight tonight.

After four years of debate and compromise, 2,300 prelates of the Roman Catholic Church gathered in St. Peter's and solemnly marked their ballots with magnetic pencils. A decree deleted from Catholic doctrine the teaching that Jews had collective responsibility for the crucifixion of Christ, and enjoined all Catholics against depicting Jews as "rejected by God or accursed."
