The Army is still considering the formation of a second air cavalry division, Brig. Gen. George P. Senneff, director of Army Aviation stated in Washington. After the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile) was assigned to Viet Nam earlier this year, senior Army officers told a reporter at Fort Benning that another air cavalry division would be formed from units of the depleted 101st Airborne Division which had dispatched some of its brigrades to the Southeast Asian war.
