Witness: KKK Rented

Offices To U.S.

A Georgia unit of the Ku Klux Klan was so successful in covering up its identity that a federal agency rented space in its headquarters, House investigators were told today. Howard W. Smith, police chief of Clayton County, Ga., told the House Committee on Un--American Activities that the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) was a tenant in a building in Jonesboro owned by the Clayton Civic Club, a cover for Klavern No. 52. Also in the building were the Klan headquarters and the law office of a Klan member.

Art Show

The First Annual Columbus Square Art Show, set for Saturday and Sunday of this week in the mall at Columbus Square, is attracting a record--breaking number of artists as exhibitors. The show is sponsored jointly by the Junior Woman's Club and the Woman's Guild of the Columbus Museum of Arts and Crafts in cooperation with Columbus Square merchants.

Viet Nam Gifts

The local chapter of "Viet Nam Mail Call" decided at a meeting Tuesday night to call their project of sending gifts to Viet Nam, "Operation Christmas Cheer." Al Haden, secretary of the organizations, said the items requested most have been plastic billfolds, ballpoint pens, recent magazines, paperback books and cakes that are not perishable.
