U.S. Red Party On Trial Today
The United States opens its case against the Communist Party today before 12 jurors who swear they've never heard, said or read a bad word about it. The party is charged with failing to register with the government as a Soviet agent and could face a maximum fine of $230,000.
LC Homecoming
LaGrange College's homecoming parade Saturday will spotlight the homecoming queen, members of her court and band music. Scheduled to leave the LC campus at 2:45 p.m. the parade will include eight floats, four bands and at least a dozen other units, according to Mike McAfee of Roberta, parade Marshall.
Benning Bid
Phenix City's Utilities Board may compete with other major suppliers to furnish natural gas to Fort Benning, one of the areas largest consumers of natural gas. The board Tuesday night voted to instruct its general manager to investigate the possibilities of bidding for the Fort Benning contract.
