Baptists to Host Foreign Officers

Seventeen foreign officers at Fort Benning will be guests in the home of Columbus Baptists Sunday as the Columbus Baptist Association sponsors its second annual Hospitality Day. The 17 officers all are participating in the Allied Officers training program at Fort Benning.

A local bank official has been elected president of the newly organized Eufaula Heritage Association, which is dedicated to preserving the city's historical past. L.Y. Dean III, president of Eufaula Bank and Trust Co., was among officers elected this week to guide the organization, which initially is concentrating all efforts on management of the Shorter Mansion.

Salaries Set

County Attorney Charles M. Evert and County Clerk Paul Jones have been assigned pay grades by Muscogee County Commission -- the same as other county employees. Neither position was mentioned in a pay plan which Yarger and Associates of Falls Church, Va., drafted for the county and which is now in effect for other county employees.
